Whether you are writing your first or your fiftieth novel, you still have to run that arduous marathon that is writing a book. Fiction writing is mentally and emotionally challenging and, ironically, the people who do it tend to be sensitive and empathic, making them the most unsuitable personality types to cope with the harsh demands of the writing process and the publishing industry.
It’s not a game. It’s not romantic. It’s tougher than anyone who doesn’t do it can possibly imagine. But there is a way for creative people to survive this process without destroying their health, family and social life, or going positively insane every time they do it. Yes, it’s tough, but I believe with the correct outlook and the necessary tools we can wisely make this writing life work for us rather than against us.
Work with me...
Not only do you have to be able to write a novel and stay focused and motivated throughout the writing of it, but before it even reaches a reader, you also have to cope with editing and re-writing it, finding an agent, waiting for answers, facing rejection, finding a publisher, and accepting that much of your own destiny is in other people's hands.
I have drawn upon all my years of writing and coaching, and developed the Healthy Sane Novelist programme in order to give you the guide that I always felt I needed. It provides you with some honest insights and practical tools that will take you through your creative experience. Whether it's through private coaching, online courses, or simply by reading my blog, I sincerely hope you will find something here to ease your way through the writing journey.
With love and best wishes,
